Abstract
Inspired by the Fibonacci tree shown in the recent book, Catalan Numbers, by Richard Stanley, we present a combinatorial way to construct double Riordan arrays by using ECO technique. As an extension of the Pascal-Stanley triangle, the compression double Riordan arrays are dened. The sequence characterizations of double Riordan arrays, subgroups of the double Riordan group, and the compressions of double Riordan arrays are found. Some connections of Riodan arrays and double Riordan arrays as well as their compressions are
given. The properties of double Riordan arrays and their compressions such as the P matrices and stabilizers are discussed. The applications of the the linear map induced by Riordan arrays and double Riordan arrays are presented.
