Abstract
Central Illinois played a significant role in the bicycle boom of the 1890s. This role has been largely forgotten and overshadowed by the better-known Chicago history. This paper will discuss the historical significance of Central Illinois bicycle manufacturing and bicycle racing during the 1890s.
